Bio

In short, I like numbers but more importantly I like working with people and helping them. What gets me excited about my job is when I am able to save a family some money. Or I really like it when I find some extra money in a company's books!

Hello there! Thank you for stopping at my bio. I appreciate that you want to get to know me. In return if I am the right fit for your accounting needs, I look forward to getting to know you too. I have over 20 years of experience in the accounting field. After graduating from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 1997 I started my adult life working for some big companies traveling the world conducting audits and evaluations to discover ways to make the companies more efficient. After doing that for 10 years I determined that being a CPA and helping people and small businesses is where my passion was. I got my CPA license from the MN Board of Accountancy in June 2007. And because I love the beach and sunlight, like most Minnesotans, I got my license in 2013 for Florida. I am a member of the Minnesota Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Florida Institute of CPAs.

I take a bit of different approach when it comes to running my CPA practice. I want to serve my clients like you are part of my family. I’m here to look at your personal financials or small business and help you strategically plan for your future. I am not just a man behind the computer entering the data to get your taxes done. I want to help you save the most money and assist you in making the best of the years to come. Areas that I am experienced in are business organization and formation, accounting (QuickBooks), payroll processing, individual and business - tax planning and preparation, audit, forensic accounting, divorce matters, business valuations, forecasting and projections.

Through the years I have represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service and a variety States’ Department of Revenue with much success, all while balancing the Tax Code and clients’ individual situations.

Personally, I am a born and raised Minnesota boy, I grew up on my grandpa’s old potato farmland in Biwabik. I have five kids. And when we aren’t busy with their activities, I enjoy some Minnesota football and hockey. My lovely bride and I like to escape the cold and travel to warmer places, Florida being a popular destination and play some golf when the weather is right.  We also love the lake life and enjoy going up north and stay at our family cabin on Lake Kabetogama.

Thank you again for checking me out. I look forward to working with you and help you with all your accounting and financial needs.
